Deckboard spacing is the clear gap between adjacent boards in a pallet deck. It is different from board width and from the overall pallet dimensions. A drawing may show equal spacing across the deck or different gaps in selected positions, depending on the intended product and pallet construction.
The spacing helps describe how the bottom of a product will meet the pallet surface. Small packages, bagged goods and products with narrow support points may need particular attention to that layout.
