Compare the finished shipment’s maximum width and height with the clear door opening of the actual container being supplied. Include the pallet, packaging, corner protection and any projecting parts in those measurements. A container’s nominal size or internal height does not, by itself, confirm door clearance. Ask the freight forwarder or carrier for the equipment specification and any required handling clearance before finalizing the load.
The loading plan also needs to account for pallet orientation, the space needed to manoeuvre, the lifting method and the arrangement of other cargo. Do not assume that a load fitting on paper can be driven through the doorway while raised. Have the loading team confirm the complete route and equipment requirements.
