A deckboard is an individual board forming part of a wooden pallet’s top or bottom deck. Top deckboards provide the surface beneath the goods, while bottom deckboards form part of the base where that design includes them. Their width, thickness, spacing and attachment to the supporting structure are separate details on a pallet specification.
When describing a pallet, identify whether you mean a top or bottom deckboard and record its position. Two pallets with the same overall dimensions can have different board layouts, so a photograph and a simple measurement list are more useful than outside size alone.
